Forthcoming rides with MG
A brief note and overview to let you know of the planned weekend rides coming up with yours truly:-
Saturday 11th August: - (some confidence and experience riding in traffic necessary)
Central London “Belgian House”& “Look mum no hands” (depending on time)
This ride sets off at 10am and rides into Central London to “Belgian House” and possibly “Look Mum No Hands” (cycling cafe in Old Street- Cycle Show is filmed here) will be a 26-30mile round trip. We will be in Central London traffic so some experience is necessary. This is a bit hard to look after a group so it’s more a question of following me and taking things a bit easy if you have never cycled in Central London before. It is a decent route, lots of bus lanes and big roads once you get through Lewisham. Set off at the park, from 10am should be back 1:30 latest depending on experience of riders and if we go to LMNH also.
Sunday 12th August (50miles-climbs include, Toys and Fackendon as well as Otford-plus a few fast descents and Knatts Valley which is sure to be quick)
KOM rnd 6. Map is on the calendar. The hill is Toys. Its coffee at Westerham, then hill, then home. This is a lumpy route and will be paced a little different to normal. Yes we will re- group at the top of hills but we will not stop, only ease the pace which will be lead by myself. The plan is to increase people’s fitness and endurance. The forthcoming rides will follow the same pattern although as this is an introduction to pacing yourself it will not be at race pace!!!!
If anyone goes off the front the pace will not increase to bring them back as this is a paced ride dependant on those coming along so if you shoot off you are on your own ( apart from Toys Hill of course)
Sunday 26th AugustKOM rnd 7
Coffee at Shoreham and the hill is Exedown. This is lumpy too and a fast 7mile descent home (Gadgets favourite). A slight change, this has a bit more climbing and you all know I love Exedown, but also have some fast paced flats/descents.
Any questions please let me know.....
