Club Kit

I will shortly be arranging another kit order via our new supplier CPK.

Orders will work differently this time - instead of providing me with details of your requirements, we will be provided with a weblink to an ordering site and you can place your order with CPK directly. You will make payment via their website at the time of booking.

We need to reach a minimum of 20 items in total - but I have had lots of queries about when the order is going in so I think we will make this easily. Our ordering facility will be 'open' for a finite time period so please make sure you don't miss the deadline!

The new supplier has a wider range of products and I will post of copy of their updated price list next week.

One word of warning - the kit is made in Italy and is based on Italian sizes which come up small. They are posting me a sample pack so if you would like to make arrangements to try any items on prior to ordering please let me know. If you have any questions please drop me a line.

Many thanks,

Ali

News!

Crystal Palace Crits and Bexley Evening 10

Just a reminder that these events have started and are listed on the calendar. Several of you expressed a wish to race this season, so I expect some race results to be coming my way over the next few weeks.

Round 2 of the KOM

This weekend is Round 2 of the KOM competition, the hill in question is Old Terry's Lodge. You must be a paid up member for your placements to be registered.

Family Level 3 Ride - Surrey Docks Farm

Sunday's Level 3 ride will be a visit to Surrey Docks Farm. It will be no longer than 18 miles, but can be cut short if needed and is mostly flat along the Thames. The stopping point will be a visit to the farm cafe and the animals. Youngsters must be accompanied by an adult.

London Youth Games

We have a team of youngsters making their racing debut at the London Youth Games on Saturday 6th July. They will be competing in individual time trials and a 6 lap race at the end of the day, against 29 other London boroughs. Please could you all put this date in your diaries, as we want to get as many people as possible to come on the day and help support. The first race can be quite daunting when you've never done it before, and these guys are only 9-13 years old! It would be great to have a team of supporters on every bend, cheering these youngsters through out the day!!!

Ride Captain Workshop

Are you interested in what makes an LEC Ride Captain? Is it something that you might like to have a go at but think you can't?

Come along to our Ride Captain's Workshop on Monday 4th February. (Details on the calendar)

We will take you through all the steps of being a Ride Captain at any level, from leading a ride around the park, to leading a themed ride or training session. Then you can decide if it's something that you can do!

At LEC we pride ourselves on providing Ride Captains to look after everyone on our rides. All our Ride Captains are volunteers and give their time willingly to help other riders. However, as amazing as they are, they do need a break every now and then, and to be able to follow their own personal training plans.

Our strength is that we are a community focused club, offering something for everyone, but at the moment we run the risk of having to turn people away from rides, or cancelling rides altogether.

With the growth of the club and all the lovely new people that are taking part in activities, we need volunteers to come forward, even if it's only for one ride each year.

We don't expect you to jump straight in, come and see what it's about and we will give you the support and training to lead a ride when you are comfortable.

The biggest thing about being a Ride Captain is that is can be so much fun and is always thoroughly rewarding!!

To secure a place on the workshop or for any questions you may have, email the Gaffer - olliegolding@tiscali.co.uk
